Among the protagonists of Focus Live 2024 was also Work In Progress, the program sponsored by the NGO Pro Terra Sancta which, since 2022, has identified, financed, and supported entrepreneurial projects of young Lebanese.
During the three-day event organized from November 8 to 10, 2024, at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan by Focus magazine (Mondadori), directed by Gian Maria Bazzoli, Ara Abadjan and George Daccache, founders of two startups included in the WIP program, were awarded. Despite the dramatic situation in their country, they have managed to keep moving forward.
The award they received is named after Raymond Zreick, a Focus journalist who passed away prematurely two years ago; the two entrepreneurs also received a donation offered by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
“I believe this recognition may be a small but important sign of the path taken to support the hopes of young Lebanese,” said Daniele Sacco, HR Director at Mondadori and member of the Advisory Board of Working In Progress, during the award ceremony. “Helping projects like those of Ara and George means not only contributing to entrepreneurship but also to the very future of Lebanon,” added Marco Piuri, General Manager of FNM and also a member of WIP’s Advisory Board.
Meanwhile, WIP’s commitment to Lebanon continues: the projects of the third edition will soon be officially announced, and they will receive financial support as well as technical and managerial assistance for 18 months.
